May 22nd~ 2014 was Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue' Official Ground Breaking for the new firehouse. Loudoun County Board of Supervisor' and Loudoun County' Chief of Fire Department joined AVFRD' leadership for a great day in the evolution of our Department and County system. Doomsday has arrived. Old Fire Station 6 will be demolished starting today and tomorrow. We realize it' a sad time in our dept' history~ but I can assure everyone that a lot of the old building will live on in the new firehouse!
