The Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) is committed to protecting the lives and property of Ashburn and Loudoun County residents and visitors by providing the best possible fire, rescue, emergency and medical response services. We pledge to perform our duty with courage and dedication. We also strive to be active in our community and proactive with public education and prevention campaigns.

Since 1944, the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) has been answering your calls. Our community is growing and so is the need for volunteers to become trained firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). We also need administrative volunteers to assist with community outreach, public education, fundraising, publicity, building maintenance and clerical duties.

Firehouse Subs Grant
Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is awarding much needed equipment to Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Barbara Murphy works tirelessly on securing grants for our department. New Addition to the AVFRD Family!
AVFRD would like to welcome Blake Michael Wealand to our extended fire dept. family. Blake was born on 9-12-13 at 0031 hours. The boy is a healthy 7lb 14oz and 20" long. The family is home now and doing well. Congrats!

July 4th Celebration and Old Fashioned Fireman's Day

The Kidwell's add an addition to the Family
AVFRD wants to congratulate both Wendy and Dale Jr. on the new addition to their family. Henry Fynn Kidwell was welcomed into the world on February 26th, 2013. Henry weighed in at 6 lbs. 11 ozs. Both mom and baby are doing well. Welcome to the family Henry!
