Sterling House Fire

At approximately 0400 hours on 8/15, units from Sterling, Ashburn, and Fairfax were alerted to the unit block of Westmoreland for the House Fire. Units arrived on scene of a two story wood framer with smoke showing. Crews found fire in the basement that had extended to the first floor via the duct chase. Tower 6 opened up and crews made quick work of the fire. Units were held out roughly 2 hours before returning to service. Units: E606B, TL6, E22, Chief 6A

Leesburg House Fire

Approx 1130 hours on May 30th, units from the 1st and 2nd Battalions were notified of a possible house fire in the Potomac Station section of Engine 22's first due. With multiple calls reported and multiple sightings of "Large Columns" in the sky. A few volunteers made their way to the station to get additional units on the street. Truck Co. 606 added on to assignment as the truck company on the RIT Level I assignment. Units went on scene with a 2 story SFD with fire showing all floors. Truck Co. 6 for the Trap, Rt 7…….Again

Monday May 27th at 21:42 hours, Engine and Ambulance Company 22 were dispatched for an motor vehicle accident with rollover in the area of Route 7 and Lexington Drive. Chief 611 was in the area and added onto the run, arriving on scene to find a multi vehicle accident with one requiring extrication. Chief 611 upgraded the assignment adding Truck 606 and Squad 15 to the run. Due to the location of the incident Truck 606 was already on the road arriving just a couple minutes after the initial upgrade. Cardiac Arrest Save!

On 5/25, M6221 was dispatched on an upgrade as the 2nd ALS unit for a cardiac arrest in Leesburg. Co 13 arrived on scene to find a working code. M6221 arrived shortly thereafter and immediately proceeded into the house to find a 91 year old female unconscious & in full cardiac arrest. M6221 set up the Lucas device, established an IV, intubated the patient and pushed medications. After ventilating the patient for several minutes, and after the medications had been administered, the crew of M6221 noticed that the patient was again breathing on her own. Truck Co 6 Toned Out for the Greenway Trap

At. approx. 1900 hours on May 23rd, units were alerted for a motor vehicle accident on the Dulles Greenway, just prior to Ashburn Village. E23 arrived on scene to find an accident involving multiple vehicles, with one trapped, adding Truck 6, Captain 6, and multiple EMS units to the run card. The crew from Truck 6 arrived to find one driver heavily entrapped. Truck 6 went to work, removing the roof and performing a complete left side removal to disentangle the patient. The extrication was completed in less than 12 minutes and the patient was handed off to an awaiting medic unit. Units: Truck 6  

End of Row Townhouse Fire – Leesburg

At 0555 hrs on May 13th, units were alerted for a townhouse fire on Vanderbilt Terr in Leesburg. Units went on scene with smoke showing and found a fire on the 2nd floor. E601 made a quick knock on the fire as E22 advanced the back up line, (stood fast on first floor due to fire at the top of the stairwell). The fire was contained to a room on the 2nd floor with minor extension near the stairwell. Truck 6 took care of utilities. Units were out about an hour. Units: E22, T6     

Red Robin, Hmmmm!

At approximately 0200 hours on Thursday, May 2nd, units from Sterling, Ashburn, and surrounding jurisdictions were alerted to a fire in the Red Robin near Dulles Towne Center. Units arrived on scene with smoke showing from the roof. Crews found a fire in the kitchen that had extended into the stud area and chases. Crews made quick work of the incident and was scaled back to units from Sterling and Ashburn. Units were held out about 1 hour for overhaul. Units: E6, TL6, E22

April 2013

Truck Fire

Shortly before midnight on Tuesday April 2nd~ Engine Co. 22 and Captain 6 (Lawson) were alerted to Leesburg for the Truck fire. While enroute~ Loudoun ECC upgraded to a structure fire (due to the proximity to the hotel) bringing Engine and Truck 6. Reserve Engine 22 arrived to find a commercial truck cab well involved with no extension into the hotel and extinguished the same. Command (Kreuger-601) quickly scaled the incident back holding Reserve Engine 22 and Leesburg units. Reserve Engine 22 cleared the scene around 0130 after overhauling and assisting the Fire Marshall.
