Dan Davidson is a Lifetime Member of the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD). But what does that mean? It means that an individual is so revered and highly thought of that they retain their membership with absolutely no requirement on their part. It means that their membership is so important to the department, that it shall remain active until the end of time. That’s what Dan Davidson means to the AVFRD. Dan began serving his community here in 1997. He quickly rose to the rank of lieutenant where he served on the Thursday night crew as one of their leaders. In addition to volunteering to be away from his family to serve his community as a firefighter, Dan served the community pancakes and delivered mulch to help raise money to keep those service going. Dan eventually became the Chair of the Volunteer Points Committee ensuring that those who served got credit for their sacrifice. Lieutenant Davidson is the embodiment of what it means to be selfless. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family as he continues to fight a serious health condition.
