On Thursday, January 16, 2025, 16 dedicated volunteers from the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) proudly completed various levels of fire and emergency medical services (EMS) training.

Ten volunteers successfully finished the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course, while six completed the rigorous Firefighter I-II course.

As part of the Loudoun County Combined Fire and Rescue System (LC-CFRS) tradition, instructors select one individual from each graduating class as the “Top Student.” This honor is awarded to those who demonstrate exceptional leadership, dedication, academic excellence, and the ability to inspire others.  AVFRD is thrilled to announce Hakim Aburomi was selected as the “Top Student” for the Summer 2024 Volunteer EMT School.
