Benefits for Volunteers

Tax savings, retirement benefits, tuition assistance, free training & more! Volunteering won’t pay your salary, but there are many financial benefits and other rewards for those who give back to their community.

Ways to Volunteer

Serve as a firefighter, emergency medical technicians (EMT), or as a member of our administrative team providing community outreach, public education, fundraising, publicity, building maintenance & other duties.

Since 1944, the Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) has been answering your calls. Will you answer our call?  We need you to become part of our volunteer team, to continue our tradition of service to the Ashburn community and surrounding jurisdictions.  Our community is growing and so is the need for Operational volunteers to become trained firefighters and emergency medical technicians (EMTs). We also need Administrative Members volunteers to assist with community outreach, public education, fundraising, publicity, building maintenance and clerical duties.
