Day job have you down? Looking for real human connections, excitement, personal growth, and a chance to make a real difference? Volunteering as a firefighter or EMT will test your strength and resolve, challenging you in new ways that will build your confidence, teach you new skills, develop you as a leader, and prepare you for whatever life may throw at you. No experience required – we’ll provide all the training you need. Plus, you don’t need to be a resident of Ashburn to join! Come be part of our diverse group of neighbors who are dedicated to improving themselves and their community through an incredible service experience.
This meeting will be both in-person (at Fire Station 6 at 20688 Ashburn Road, Ashburn, VA, 20147) & online via Zoom (link below).
Our Volunteer Interest Meeting is your chance to hear about the process, timelines, training requirements, and commitments needed to become a first responder in Ashburn. At this meeting, we’ll discuss requirements, what to expect as a volunteer, timelines, and commitments, and answer any questions you have.
We are also recruiting members for our Support Services Volunteer team. Administrative Volunteers provide non-emergency, administrative, and auxiliary services that support the daily operations and mission of the department. No matter your age or background, you have unique skills that you can offer to your community by being a member of AVFRD.
