The AVFRD is Always Looking For Student Volunteers!

Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department (AVFRD) offers high school students (ages 14 and older) opportunities to earn college application community service credit by volunteering at our community service events such as the spring and fall open houses and pancake breakfasts.  If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the “Student Volunteer Signup (Community Service Hours)” form and you will be notified when we have new events.

AVFRD Guidelines

  • Attire:  long pants, shirts without writing or pictures (AVFRD volunteer sheets may be provided for the event and will be returned at the end of the event)
  • Closed toe shoes
  • Be prepared to tie your hair up should you be working with food
  • Be on time for shift selected
  • Stay for your entire shift
  • No cell phone usage during shift
  • At the conclusion of your shift bring any school volunteer sheet to be signed off to the student event coordinator.
