The Ashburn Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department’s Annual Appeal is underway.  Appeal letters were mailed to all households (first-due area) supported by the AVFRD at the end of December.  AVFRD is a 100% volunteer-run non-profit organization providing fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services to over 40,000 homes and businesses in the Ashburn area.  These volunteers donated an estimated 100,000 hours of unpaid time in 2020 alone.  They staff fire trucks and ambulances (owned and maintained by AVFRD) at both Station 6 on Ashburn Road (also owned by AVFRD) and Station 22 in Lansdowne from 6pm – 6am every night.

We hope that you will take a few minutes to read the appeal letter and support the AVFRD!  We are not only seeking monetary donations, we are also looking for new volunteers to join our organization.  For more information on how to become part of the AVFRD (fire fighter, EMT, or in support services), please click here:  Volunteers.  If you prefer to make a tax-deductible donation, please click here:  Donate Now!

Your neighbors at AVFRD wish you a Happy New Year and we will always be there if you ever need us!
